Minsk zoo celebrates 25th anniversary
Minsk zoo has turned 25 today. It was opened a quarter of a century ago on the day of the 40th anniversary of Minsk Car Factory as its zoological and botanical garden.
It first inhabitants were a crane Zhurka, camel Han, little bison Hai and wild boar Hrusha.
Now the collection of the capital zoo includes different kinds of reptiles, birds, monkeys, predators and rodents – about 3 thousand representatives of 250 species of animals.
A festive concert in honour of the zoo’s jubilee will take place today. Belarusian stars will take part in it, reports BelTA.
