Most markets in Vitsebsk support vendors' strike (pictures)
Small-size vendors in Vitsebsk today joined the strike across Belarus to protest against the president's decrees No760 and No302, ERB correspondent Yadviha Stasheuskaya reports from Vitsebsk. The action in Vitsebsk turned out to be "velvet". The vendors had warned the authorities that they would not show up for work and they did so.
Most of the entrepreneurs remained at home in order not to gather as a crowd and be seen as an unauthorized protest.
Preliminary estimates suggest that nearly 50 percent of vendors in Vitsebsk joined the strike. Only the Continent and Europe trade centers ignored the action.
