Narkevich: Belarus wages no trade wars
Belarus deputy trade minister Iryna Narkevich says every country protects its market and consumers.
This [market protection] should be done in the Customs Union and on the post-Soviet territory as well, because there is an intense competition in the foodstuff market, Deputy Trade Minister Iryna Narkevich said in a statement.
Belarus is not waging any trade wars at the moment, she noted. "We are in the middle of integration processes and we will support and develop them. However, we should be responsible and attentive when it comes to the foodstuff market," Deputy Minister claimed.
Iryna Narkevich also mentioned the statements by Russian government officials that Belarusian dairy and meat products were danagerous to consume. Citizens should not be afraid to consume our products, BELTA news agency quotes Iryna Narkevich as saying.
