National Bank: No shocks expected till year end
The National Bank of Belarus does not expect the exchange rate of Belarusian ruble (BYN) to change significantly, National Bank head Pavel Kalaur told journalists after the launch of XIII International Forum on Information Technologies "BankІТ'2016".
"The exchange rate is market-based. There are no trends that could negatively affect the payment balance of this country. We do not expect any shocks till the end of the year that could undermine the dynamics of the Belarusian ruble exchange rate," Pavel Kalaur is quoted as saying by the state news agency BelTA.
He stressed that the scenarios approach to forecasting allows taking possible risks into account.
"When we make forecasts till the end of the year, we take into account the gas negotiations with Russia as well as the talks with international organizations. In other words, our joint with the government forecast till the year end and for the next year takes into account all the risks that can be materialized," explained Pavel Kalaur.
