Nyaklyayeu: Opposition should stay away from election
The former presidential contender Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu tells opposition not to take part in the election, if it is against the regime.
Ex-presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu has harshly criticized democratic opposition representatives running for President this year. No oppositionists should participate in this election campaign unless they ‘have betrayed democracy’ or support Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime, he believes.
“I have never survived such terrible summer heat and have never felt so ashamed before,” he announced at a joint press conference of the democratic forces in Minsk.
Oppositionists should not participate in the election campaign because presidential contender Mikola Statkevich has been illegally deprived of this right, Nyaklyayeu thinks. Nayklyayeu thanked Statkevich for ‘the bravery that helps whose with a clear conscience not to lose heart.’ He is ready to support Statkevich in everything, Nyaklyayeu claimed.
