Opposition denied venues for democratic congress in Minsk
All of the institutions, requested by the organizers of the Congress of Pro-Democracy Forces to provide spaces for their event, have rejected the opposition's applications.
The management of the Minsk Concert Hall said the venue had already been booked, while the Days of Moscow are scheduled to take place at the Palace of the Republic. In an earlier development, the opposition organizers failed to get the venue at the Palace of Culture at the Minsk Truck Plant.
The congress is scheduled to take place on May 26-27. With hundreds of delegates from across Belarus expected to participate, the organizers say they still hope they would be able to hold the congress in Belarus, not outside the country.
