Over 100 Belarusian museums to take part in Night of Museums(video)
Belarus will join the international Night of Museums for the 9th time. The action will be dated for the International Museum Day – May 18.
Over 100 state museums and art galleries in Minsk and other regions of the country will offer various cultural programmes tonight.
The National Museum will organize 16 cultural projects united by the idea of Jan Barszczewski’s Nobleman Zawalnia, or Belarus in Fantastic Stories.
The National History Museum will focus on the number 13 and explode the myth of the unlucky number. Visitors will plunge into the atmosphere of Minsk in 1913, Moscow in 1813 and so on. Jazz bands will be performing in the museum during the whole action, BelaPAN notes.
The Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum will organise PaŬlinka PARTY for its visitors. A fair of self-made goods will be opened in the yard. Belarusian bands Alta Mente, Folkmashina and Bosaye Sontsa will give concerts on the threshold.
A non-academic art programme will be prepared by the Museum of Modern Arts. The real Night of Museums will be organized in the Zair Azhur Memorial Museum. Belarusian bands will be giving concerts there until 6 a.m. on May 19.
