PACE special reporter is invited to entrepreneurs’ action in Minsk on February 18
PACE special reporter on Belarus Andrea Rigoni has been invited to the entrepreneurs’ protest action that will take place in Minsk on February 18. The invitation was signed by the acting head of the Coordination council of private entrepreneurs Alyaksandr Makayeu. That is what he said in his interview with ERB:
“The letter to Rigoni is a cry from the heart addressed to the European structures that are trying to conduct a dialogue with the authorities”.
The special reporter has been informed about Lukashenka’s decree that limits the rights of individual entrepreneurs to a large extent and about protest actions and repressions directed at activists. Entrepreneurs are hoping that the presence of Mr. Rigoni will provide for a peaceful meeting of protest.
At the same time preparation for the action on February 18 is going on. Makayeu says:
“Entrepreneurs are getting ready for the action. There is an idea of placing platforms with economic mottos at the square. Only consolidation can help us protect our right to work”.
