In pictures: Ex-Ambassador of Poland publishes a book about Belarus
Mariusz Maszkiewicz presented it in Warsaw on Monday.
The book is called "Between security and identity. Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian interpretations of ideas and concepts in Poland's East policy (1990-2010)".
In his book, the former Ambassador of Poland to Belarus wanted to show how "Poland's East foreign policy" is perceived in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. The author also considers the concepts of Poland's foreign policy in the XX century.
The book has 560 pages.
Mariusz Maszkiewicz is a doctor of humanitarian sciences, a diplomat, a publicist and a civil activist. He worked as an Ambassador for Poland to Belarus in 1998-2002. On March 24, 2006 he was arrested by police at the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk during the mass protest actions. Minsk court punished Maszkiewicz with 15 days of detention.
