Presidential candidates start making radio speeches
The presidential candidates started making speeches on TV on September 23. Same as on TV, the candidates can make two 30-minute speeches in the radio.
According to the draw, Syarhei Haidukevich made his speech first. The leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party repeated his September 15 TV appeal almost completely.
Belarus needs reforms, Haidukevich claimed. He is open for a dialogue with the authorities and will never ask people ‘to make a revolution in the square’, he claimed. The threat to Belarus’ independence lies within the state, the candidate believes. The politician also supports the idea of conducting parliamentary elections using the mixed-member proportional representation, BelaPAN reports.
Same as on TV, Haidukevich finished his speech with the motto ‘Long live, Belarus!’.
