Professor Ivan Nikitchanka buried in Northern Cemetery

The burial of a famous scientist and civil activist Ivan Nikitchanka has taken place in the Northern Cemetery. More than 100 people came to Nikitchanka’s flat in Ivanauskaya Street to bid farewell to him, informs Radio Liberty. Yury Hadyka, Ales Marachkin, Vital Rymahseuksi, Alyaksei Yanukevich and others recalled Nikitchanka during the civil funeral rites organized in the Northern Cemetery. The speakers mentioned Nikitchanka’s great achievements in the development of agricultural science, his struggle with the consequences of Chernobyl disaster and his participation in the public and political life of the independent Belarus.

Let us remind you that Professor Nikitchanka met with an accident not far from Maladzehcna on November 19 and died in hospital on November 20.
