Putin ready to remain in office for 10 more years
Putin does not want to stay president for life but may run again in 2018. If he is elected then, he will stay the resident until 2024.
Vladimir Putin has shared his plans with TASS news agency. Putin was asked if he was going to stay President for life and said: “I am not. It would be bad for the country and I do not need it,” he explained.
According to him, it is not about fatigue. “Judging by the current situation and medium-term forecasts… There is no sense for me to stay,” Putin said.
The Russian Constitution allows him to run for President again. It means that he may do it. “I will judge by the situation and my mood,” Putin commented on his participation in the future election.
Vladimir Putin was Russian President in 2000-2008, PM – in 2008-2012 and he is President now.
