Putin’s press secretary explains Russian president's statement
Russian President Vladimir Putin did not urge to start negotiations about south-east Ukraine’s statehood, he claimed.
Putin’s press secretary Dmitri Peskov made the statement, Russian mass media report. The Russian President meant Kiev’s dialogue with separatists’ representatives, Peskov said. It is absolutely wrong to interpret Putin’s statement as an appeal to discuss the statehood of Novorossiya, he added.
“Only Ukraine can agree with Novorossiya and take the interests of Novorossiya population into account and settle the conflict in a political way,” he also noted.
