Reason for 12 rail cars derailing in Svetlahorsk revealed (photo)
Among the main causes for accident is the destruction of the wheel set in one of the cars.
On the morning of June 2, 13 rail cars carrying rubble (overall, the freight train had 68 cars) derailed at the entrance to the railway station "Svetlahorsk-on-Berezina". About 100 meters of railway tracks were damaged due to the accident. No human injuries were reported.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, one of the probable causes for the accident was destruction of the wheelset in one of the train cars. Experts are looking into the case, they are studying the technical documentation for repair and maintenance of cars. Investigative Committee operatives also visited the accident area.
