Registration of presidential candidates starts in CEC
A new stage of the election campaign has started in Belarus – the registration of presidential candidates from November 14 till November 23. All the 11 candidates including a Vitsebsk entrepreneur Uladzimir Pravalski who has not collected the necessary number of signatures according to the CEC have presented registration documents, reports BelaPAN.
The CEC meeting where candidates will be registered is supposed to take place on November 18. According to the secretary of the commission Mikalai Lazavik, the contenders who have collected more than 100 thousand signatures are likely to be registered. Incorrect biographical information will not become a reason to refuse the registration. Furthermore, a presidential contender has the right to commit a mistake in the income statement. A mistake will not be considered substantial if the income will differ from the real one by less than 20%.
