200 signatures for petition to Lukashenka collected in Katowice
Poles are demanding to release political prisoners.
The action "Send freedom to Belarus" ("Wyślij Wolność Białorusi") organized by the Office of MEP Marek Migalski and the Independent Association of Śląskie University Students was organized in Polish Katowice near the rector’s office on February 17.
According to migalski.eu, the action was aimed at collecting signatures for the petition to Alyaksandr Lukashenka concerning the release of political prisoners. Almost 200 signatures were collected during the action. Students took pictures with political prisoners’ names. They will make a collage and postcards that will be sent to the Belarusian opposition later.
Moreover, the organizers offered the exposition “Citizens of the Republic of Belarus” and films about the situation in Belarus. Lectures were given and pictures of demonstrations in our country were shown there.
