650 demonstrators detained in Moscow, detentions continue (photo)
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be inaugurated in the Russian capital today. The police have caught 15 more people with white ribbons.
According to ITAR-TASS, the police inform that 436 people (including well-known opposition activists Sergei Udaltsov, Boris Nemtsov and Alexei Navalniy) were detained in the Russian capital on Sunday. According to the opposition, up to 650 people were detained. Their list can be found on the Internet. Some of the detained have been released; others are still in police offices.
The police have refuted the rumour about victims but for the accident when an amateur photographer fell off a staircase.
Let us remind you that an opposition street action “March of millions” took place in Moscow on May 6. Dozens of thousands people took part in it. Demonstrators and the police clashed.
