Artist Hulin fired from BNTU for coloured cubes in Kastrychnitskaya Square
Mikhail Hulin was a lecturer at Architecture faculty. He was forced to quit after the detention for the action "Private Monument".
On October 9, Hulin walked round Minsk placing a composition of three pink cubes and one yellow parallelepiped near monuments, together with volunteers and journalists. The artist travelled round the city by metro. He managed to place the installations successfully in Yakub Kolas Square, Independence Square and Kalinin Square. However, when they reached Kastrychnitskaya Square, the artist, the volunteers and the journalists were detained.
The police made administrative charges against the participants of the action and released them in several hours. The activists will stand trials on that on October 22 and 26.
Mikhail Hulin claims that the action had nothing to do with politics.
