Artsiom Sharkou to stand trial for "Stop Petrol 2"
Director of the informational-educational association "For Auto" Artsiom Sharkou may be subjected to responsibility for breaking order of conducting the action.
He was summoned to the Lenin district department of internal affairs yesterday where he studied the protocol on administrative offences, gave written explanations and received a subpoena to arrive to the court on May 5, BelaPAN informs.
It is stated in the protocol that Sharkou broke the law "On Mass Events", and the degree of responsibility will be defined under the article "breaking the order of organization or conducting mass events or picketing", which prescribes a warning, a fine up to 1 050 000 roubles or an administrative detention.
Director "For Auto" has said that he objects to the administrative process being started against him. He wrote in the protocol that "I, like other automobilists, arrived to the petrol station to fill my car as an automobile works on petrol, not on air". As for the journalists' interest to his person, Sharkou has explained it as follows "this was the will and wish of the media representatives".
