Belarus condemns U.S. “counterproductive” sanctions
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to the sanctions imposed on “Belarusneft” by the U.S. Department of State.
"Belarus considers the decision made by the U.S. Department of State to be illegal”, - claimed Andrei Savihyh, press sectary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commenting on the sanctions imposed on the state enterprise “Belarusneft” by the U.S. Department of State for the development of the Jofeir oilfield in Iran.
"The unilateral actions are counterproductive and do damage to the bilateral relations”, - noted Savinyh.
Belarus’ position as regards the sanctions imposed on “Belarusneft” is based on the assertion that the state enterprise did not invest anything in the development of the oilfield in Iran and that its participation was limited to geological survey and services, reports the AFN.
