Belarus threatens EU with targeted sanctions against Belarusian politicians
According to Andrej Savinykh, these measures will be taken if EP's appeals are realized in the decisions of the Council of the EU.
Belarusian MFA does not exclude a possibility that targeted measures will be used against certain politicians and structures - generators of anti-Belarusian activity. The MFA's spokesman Andrej Savinykh has said this in an interview to the ANT TV-Channel, BELTA informs.
"If the situation is developed in a negative way, we are ready to go for targeted counter-measures against certain politicians and structures - generators of anti-Belarusian activity, -the spokesman has said. At the same time, he explained that they would speak about the counter-measures when there was a necessity to impose them. "We are involved in a process now in order to prevent the European Parliament's appeals from being rezlized in the form of the Council of the EU's decisions. In case our efforts are successful and common sense wins in our partners, then we won't have to speak about counter-measures".
