Belarusian satellite - no free photos
The pictures made by the Belarusian satellite will be sold to other states to cover its cost.
Euroradio has asked Minskers why Belarus needs a satellite.
“Why? To watch the opposition and all Belarusians. I was surprised to see it launched. But it was good to know that the Belarusian science was developing," Minsker said.
Some Belarusians do not know what is being done by the Belarusian satellite in space, and others are indignant:
“Why have they launched it? They probably had too much money." "The economic situation is so bad and they have launched a satellite..."
Interestingly, the youth and elderly people agree with it.
Minskers Alyaksei and Maryna said that the satellite had been launched to improve the image of the state.
“The satellite will help us make better weather forecasts," another Minsker was optimistic.
Meanwhile, employees of "Geographic Information Systems" think that the satellite will provide Belarus with all the photos it needs and it will even be possible to sell them to other countries. The money made on the photos will help cover the expenses caused by the launch. About 16 or 17 million dollars was spent on the satellite.
