Lukashenka: Blast near Lahoisk is the result of bungling (ON-LINE)
A criminal case was started upon the fact of the blast in the residential building in Lahoisk district.
A blast occurred in the three-storeyed building in the military settlement in the village of Malinauka on Wednesday, February 8. The central entrance crashed down, seven apartments were totally demolished.

13.35. Investigation Committee: There was a smell of gas three days before the blast
A criminal case was started upon the fact of the blast in the residential building in Lahoisk district in accordance with the article "Violation of fire security rules".
According to the inhabitants of the house, there was a smell of gas three days before the blast. This has been informed by head of the department for information and public relations of the Investigation Committee Pavel Traulka.
19.45. Our correspondent Artsyom Martsynovich informs that a man might still be there under the rubbles. The rescuers are looking for him. It became known that military men lived in 6 apartments of the house out of 17. There were no children in the building at the moment of the blast.
Deputy Head of Lahoisk regional executive committee Syarhej Strazhnikevich says:
19.10. Vital Zyblyuk reports from the accident site. According to him, operative headquarters has been created. The HQ is dealing with clearing out the rubbles and liquidation of the fire which still continues. There is smoke in the place. There are a lot of police and military men here. The rescuers say that one person is still under the rubbles.
19.05. According to the information provided by the First TV-Channel, there were 17-20 people in the building at the moment when the blast occurred. 5 people were injured, 2 of them were dragged out from under the rubbles. Two people are in the Lahoisk district hospital in a serious condition.
18.05. According to the ANT TV-Channel, one of the casualties is in the Lahoisk district hospital in a serious condition. The rescuers are clearing out the rubbles in search for another person who might be there.

Head of the press-center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Vital Navitski has said the following to Euroradio:
"At 13.45 on February 8 we got the notification that there had been a blast in the hostel building in the village of Malinauka, Lahoisk district. The building has three levels. As a result of the blast, ceiling panels crashed in the second entrance, and the partitions fell down. 4 people were rescued from under the rubbles, we are in search of the casualties now. The reason for the blast is being clarified, our specialists are working at the accident site".
According to the information provided by logoysk.infо, 9 apartments were totally demolished, other apartments were damaged. The inhabitants of the house are being setled down now.
Euroradio has been informed in the Lahoisk district hospital that four people were delivered there - three men and a woman. Their contition is of medium severety. One of the casuaties is having a surgery at the moment.
The reasons for the blast in the hostel in the military settlement in Lahoisk district are being clarified by the special commission. Howwever, according to BELTA, the Ministry of Defense already claims that its was a domestic gas blast.
