Bus with mine arrives to Vilnius from Palanga, not from Minsk

Arunas Indrashus, General Manager of the company TOKS which owns the bus, has informed this to Euroradio.

"There is a route Minsk-Palanga. One bus served this route on Friday. It departed from Vilnius to Minsk at 12.30, and then it headed for Lithuania at 18.40. It arrived to Vilnius at 22.30, the drivers changed and it went to Palanga, and returned to Vilnius from there in the morning".  

Mr. Arunas has told that the bag with the mine could have got into the bus in Vilnius, or at one of the numerous stops on the way to Palanga. The driver found the bag in Palanga but decided to take it to Vilnius and opened it only there.

Other details of the incident are not disclaimed in the interests of the investigation. All three drivers who work at this route remain at freedom. The police are working with them.

Deputy Head of the Ashmyany customs Syarhei Samushchau has confirmed to Euroradio that the bus with the mine arrived to the Lithuanian capital not from Minsk, but from Palanga. Alongside with that, he refused to comment how the bus was inspected on the way from Minsk. 

Let us remind you, a modern anti-tank mine was found at the bus station in Vilnius on Saturday morning. According to preliminary information, it was delivered the bus Minsk-Vilnius. The driver allegedly agreed to deliver a parcel from the Belarusian capital and when he was about to hand it in Vilnius, he looked inside the bag and called the police.
