Council of Republic adopts amendments to law "On Mass Events"
The law was adopted by the House of Representatives at a closed session on October 3, in two readings at a time.
However, it was discussed in the open format by the upper house today, BelaPAN informs.
The document makes the rules for conducting mass events much more complicated. Any gathering of citizens should be sanctioned by the authorities, this concerns also flash-mob actions and gatherings of citizens organized through the Internet.
Organizers of a mass event have no right to announce the date, time and place until they receive an official permit, and this includes the Internet. Also, the persons who violated the order of conducting mass events within a year cannot be the organizers.
