Cromwell: Invitations to Belarus were sent by agency that provided lodging
Euroradio has noticed that the teddy bear Swedes needed invitations to get Belarusian visas. We have asked the organizer of the action, Per Cromwell, about it.
Euroradio: How did you enter Belarus? Did somebody invite you or did you get your visa at the airport?
Per Cromwell: We had invitations. They were sent by the same agency that provided us with lodging. But I do not know exactly who sent the invitations.
Euroradio: How do you think, have you reached the goal of the action?
Per Cromwell: The goal was attracting attention to the situation in Belarus. I think that we have reached it. But the other effect of the action is sad: people have been detained. That is why it is difficult to say that we are happy.
Euroradio: Did the action have any commercial purpose for you? You agency deals with commercial projects.
Per Cromwell: We helped the Swedish Communist Party draw attention to their problems a few years ago. That action had no commercial goal. Indeed, most our projects are commercial. The money we make is used for something that we think is important. We received money for this action from commercial companies. I think we have used it for an important thing.
Euroradio: Has our KGB asked you any questions?
Per Cromwell: KGB has not contacted any of us so far.
Euroradio: What will you do with the plane?
Per Cromwell: We need to repair it a bit because we made a small window for the teddy bears there. We will see in a few weeks or days. There are no plans at the moment. It is like a symbol to us, it is more than just a plane.
