Demonstration in Bangalore: No NPPs, return benefits to liquidators
"Chernobyl Way" took place on the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl tragedy. The action was peaceful, policemen watched it closely.
Speakers told about difficult consequences of the accident - economical and social ones, namely, about the poor condition of the liquidators, about the necessity of a well-weighed approach to the development of nuclear energy in Belarus after Chernobyl. There were also political slogans - demands to release political prisoners and stop politically motivated repressions.
The resolution of the demonstration contains appeal to refuse to build an NPP in Astravets. The participants of the action also demanded that the authorities should prohibit manufacturing of food products at polluted territories, and also to return benefits to the liquidators.
After the demonstration the people put flowers and lit candles near the Chapel in memory of the Chernobyl tragedy.
