EU comments on Ukraine-Customs Union relations

Brussels is interested in Kiev having good relations with Moscow, interfax.by reports referring to him. The cooperation between Ukraine and the Customs Union may be large but it should not contradict to the EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement, the official noted.

Commenting on the Customs Union, Füle drew attention to the fact that membership in the organization deprives states of sovereignty in the field of foreign trade policy. The EU cannot build up relation with Ukraine knowing that the decision is taken by someone else in some other place, the commissioner noted.
