Euronest suggests solving Belarusian issue with Russia’s help
The suggestion to solve “the Belarusian issue” with the help of Russia has been pronounced at the Euronest parliamentary assembly.
The idea has become popular with some MEPs. The representative of the campaign “Tell the Truth” who took part in the meeting of the work group on Belarus has told Euroradio about it. The meeting took place in Baku on April 2.
Belarusian representative: “More and more people including MEPs think that it is necessary to involve Russia in it and discuss the Belarusian issue with it. Some MPs thinks that it is necessary to exercise pressure on Russia using its interests in Belarus as it does have a way of affecting the situation. And it is really dangerous”.
According to Euroradio’s interlocutor, the idea appeared when the work group on Belarus came to the conclusion that nobody knew what else could be done to change the situation in our country. Belarusian representatives’ attitude to the idea of using Russia was negative. It has been decided to continue the work of “the group on Belarus” in our country but one of the delegation members – a Lithuanian MP - has been refused a Belarusian visa.
