Euroradio's election forecast proved 94% true
The names of the winners were picked on August 23 when the candidates were registered. The forecast was based only on their bios.
“We are not going to comment on voters' choice", Lidziya Yarmoshyna told Euroradio when answering the question why MPs could be elected so easily when their election campaigns were far from active.
109 out of 110 MPs have been elected. Only Homiel's Navabelickaja constituency has been left without a representative in the parliament: an LDPB member has failed to score 50% plus one vote there and the pro-government candidate withdrew for some reason 5 days before the election.
What is the secret? The fact can be explained by candidates themselves, Lidziya Yarmoshyna said at the post-election conference at night. And the competition was low.
“The candidates were really strong. The competition was low - less than 3 people per seat. And there were 16 constituencies where candidates ran unopposed.”
It may be true. Euroradio's forecast made on the day of registration of candidates proves that the election results were predictable. We have managed to guess 103 out of 110 names.
The forecast made by Euroradio was based only on candidates' biographies and it has proved to be 94% true. Think tanks could envy such precision.
