Approaches to the Stella were blocked with fences, all the passers-by were filmed.
General rehearsal of the July 3 parade took place in Minsk late at night on June 30. Everything was as it should be on Sunday.
They even installed turnstiles with policemen and a plain-clothed man with a video-camera. However, there were no metal detectors. The host of the rehearsal had to "present" the President's speech. It was very short in his interpretation: "Happy Independence Day to all of you!" The soldiers replied with "Hooray!", cannons fired and the parade started. Soldiers marched in front of the main stand, followed by military technics, both modern and war-time.
