Henik Loika jailed for 5 days
Judge of Frunze District Court Lyudmila Lapo has returned him guilty of violating the Law on mass actions.
The judge wrote in the court's decision that Loika "had been shouting out" such phrases as "Speak Belarusian!" and "We need to struggle for the Belarusian language".
Loika demanded to conduct the hearing in Belarusian, Radio Liberty reports. But the judge refused him and forbade his lawyer to speak Belarusian. She also demanded that Loika introduced himself in Russian. Loika's wife Alena wanted to be the interpreter but the judge declined her offer.
Lapo was one of the 84 judges who sentenced participants of Dec.19 action to administrative arrests in 2010.
