Hundreds of demonstrators demanding new election detained in Moscow

A mass opposition action was organized in Pushkin Square of Moscow on Monday evening. According to the organizers, it attracted about 20 thousand people. They demanded urgent democratic parliamentary and presidential elections. Detentions started after the meeting and about 150 people were delivered to police offices. The same number of people had been detained at a number of unauthorized actions in Moscow earlier. About 300 participants of the unauthorized manifestation after the presidential election were detained in Saint Petersburg.
The next mass opposition action has been appointed for March 10.
Let us remind you that according to the Russian CEC, Vladimir Putin scored 63.60% of votes after 100% of ballot-papers had been counted. Gennady Zyuganov scored 17.18%, Mikhail Prohorov – 7.98%, Vladimir Zhirinovski – 6.22% and Sergei Mironov – 3.58%.
