Hungarian banks to finance reconstruction of Minsk "Dynama" (photo)
The reconstruction will cost 150 million euro and take two years.
The national team will move to a regional centre for the time. BATE has not thought about the European Cup play-off yet.
The Belarusian Football Federation has officially informed about the reconstruction of the country's main stadium. The repair works will begin on December 1.
However, Belarusians do not have the money (about 150 million euro) to cover all the expenses, Hungarian company Groboplan that will conduct the reconstruction told Euroradio.
Representative of Groboplan: “The city only has part of the money needed for the repair works."
Buildings surrounding "Dynama" are already being destroyed to free room for new hotels. The photo shows the former Centre for Sports Medicine in ruins.
The new "Dynama" will have a capacity of 40 thousand seats. The project is supposed to be finished in 24 months. But where will BATE and the national team play?
The Barysau club has an opportunity to make it to the play-off of the Champions League or Europa League. But they will have no stadium. The stadium in Barysau is not suitable for such matches and BATE will build its own stadium only in the summer of 2013.
It is not clear whether the national team will play either.
“They have already played in Hrodna and Homel. We can organize matches there," thinks Alyaksandr Tomin, press secretary of the Belarusian Football Federation.
We have talked to Yury Kryvadubski, director of the stadium "Dynama".
Yury Kryvadubski: If BATE makes it to the play-off, they will play in one of the other Belarusian stadiums.
Euroradio: We have not found a photo of the reconstruction project anywhere...
Yury Kryvadubski: "The project is still being discussed."
Euroradio: Will a roof be built over "Dynama"?
Yury Kryvadubski: The UEFA demands it. In our case, the roof will cover 80% of the seats."
"Dynama" has no roof now. Employees are cleaning the seats before BATE-Bayern match
