Lukashenka sacks energy minister Aziarets
Belarus' energy minister Alikasandr Aziarets is dismissed by the head of the state over serious failures in energy sector
Aliaksandr Lukashenka's move to fire the minister is confirmed by the state-owned news agency BELTA, quoting the press office of the head of the state.
Besides, Aliaksandr Lukashenka has dismissed first deputy energy minister Eduard Taupianets and Belenergo director general Aliaksei Shyrma.
On April 16, the Belarusian president held a meeting with the government staff on the issues related with the energy industry. Lukashenka said during the meeting that the officials in charge of the energy sector had built a Mafia-like state within the state.
