Mahileu activists to stand trial for solidarity picket
Two participants of the picket of solidarity with political prisoners that took place in Mahileu on January 16 may have to stand trial.
A BPF Party member Valyantsin Labachou has informed Euroradio that he and a mother of many children Natallya Shkadun have been summoned to the police because they are accused of participation “in an unauthorized action”.
9 people took part in the picket. Yauhen Vaskovbich, a Babruisk journalist who attended the picket, was sentenced to 10 days of arrest, says Labachou. He has informed that a subpoena has to arrive within 10 days.
Natallya Shkadun has told Euroradio that she wanted to support political prisoners with her participation in the action and the 9-day hunger-strike. A report has been drawn up against her and the case has been sent to court. Shkadun says that pressure is being exercised on her family now.
