Mahilyou authorities do not allow Freedom Day celebration
They explain it by the fact that the event is not mentioned in the annual plan.
Head of the ideology department of Mahilyou City Executive Committee Ala Halushka told Mahilyou democrats about it.
Three Mahilyou democratic activists – Yury Novikau, Zmitser Salauyou and Syarhei Famin – applied for a celebration of the Freedom Day in the centre of the city (dancing, reciting poetry and singing) on March 10. The activists wanted the authorities to join the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the BPR.
Novikau thinks that the refusal to allow the celebration is simply preposterous. Only a government without fortune or family can behave like this, he thinks.
