National Bank: We will not conduct devaluation

Many web-sites predicted that dollar exchange rate would grow up to 3800 roubles since March 9. However, the rumours proved wrong and the American currency was sold for 3 015 roubles this morning.

"National Bank will not conduct devaluation", – a head of the information administration of the National Bank Anatol Drazdou has assured Euroradio. He has called such rumours a provocation and a lie.

Drazdou: "Naturally, there will be no devaluation. We told this last year, when we approved the indices of basket rates' hesitation. There are professional provocateurs and liars, who do this on a regular basis. We cannot comment on every schizoid and raving thing they say. There can be no comment on that".

Meanwhile, it was impossible to find out currency exchange rates at the National Bank's web-site - it didn't work this morning. Anatol Drazdou claims it could happen because of too many visitors at a time. 

Drazdou: "I think that the problems with the web-site occurred due to these rumours. Many people visited the web-site to check whether these "horror stories" were true".
