Minsk Frunze District public utilities have wished debtors a Happy New Year and promised to cancel their fines for delay if they pay before the New Year's Day. If they don't, they risk being left without electricity, water and sewerage.
Municipal service-2 told Euroradio:
“About a thousand people still have debts, about 50 of them have not paid for over 6 months. 2 people have not paid for a year... In fact, we can deprive them of our services if they do not pay for 2 months! But there has never been a case when people could not listen to the President's greetings."
Municipal service-2 provides over 180 thousand people with utilities. The New Year's warning usually works and people pay, they say.
