"Novaya Gazeta"s chief editor considers Halip's sentence non-constitutional
"It is rather a sentence to Lukashenka than to Halip", — Dzmitry Muratau says.
"Novaya Gazeta"'s editor-in-chief Dzmitry Muratau considers the sentence to Iryna Halip non-constitutional. Let us remind you, the Zavodzki district court of Minsk convicted the journalist of "Novaya Gazeta", the wife of the ex-presidential candidate Andrej Sannikau Iryna Halip to 2 years of imprisonment with arrest of judgement for 2 years today.
"This is an illegal and non-constitutional sentence, a political sentence, not a criminal one. There were certainly no grounds for it. It is rather a sentence to Lukashenka than to Halip", — RIA "Novosti" quotes Muratau's words.
