Olympic medal cost 3.6 million dollars to budget
Euroradio has used official documents to calculate the state expenses for the preparation for the Olympics.
According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers "On the programme of preparation of sportsmen for eth Olympic Games", about 190 billion roubles has been allocated for it.
Thus, we can divide the sum by the number of medals our country has won - 12 (we are not taking the medal taken away from Nadzeya Astapchuk into account). The approximate sum of the expenses totals 3 million 609 thousand dollars per Olympic medal.
The Belarusian sportsmen who performed successfully are getting ready to be rewarded after the Olympics. They have been promised 150 thousand dollars for a gold medal, 75 - for a silver one and 50 - for a bronze medal.
