Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk to stand trial on September 28

They lodged a complaint and the case papers were found very quickly, but the trial had already been postponed, the civil activist's husband, Andrei Sharenda, told Euroradio.

Adnrei Sharenda: "I think that it was done on purpose to avoid publicity. They want to consider the case later, after all the events connected with the parliamentary election are over".

Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk, her husband and civil activist Uladzislau Barouski were detained while appealing for an election boycott on September 21. The guys were let off but Palina was left in the detention centre for a day. She had to stand trial today - the girl is accused of illegal distribution of printed materials and disobedience to the police.
