Sannikau’s letter: houseplant care tips only

The letter is long – two pages - said Iryna to Euroradio. However, it does not contain a single word about Sannikau, his health and no questions about his family – the son, wife and parents.

Iryna Halip: “It is not a letter. It is a small guide to watering houseplants. We have a few houseplants in pots and I have received advice on how and when they should be watered. Two pages. Not a single word about himself. I think that it has been clearly explained to him that if he writes something about himself and about the things happening to him he will never be released”.

However, Iryna says that it was Sannikau who wrote the letter – his handwriting can be recognized easily. So she can come to the conclusion that her husband is alive. The letter was written and sent on January 3 but Iryna received it only on January 11.

 

According to the imprisoned politician’s wife, Sannikau’s lawyer will visit the colony “Vitsba-3” on January 12 and try to meet Sannikau there. Iryna will also try to get permission to meet her husband.
