Swans rescued from freezing into ice in Brest (photo)
The city department of emergency situations organized a rescuing operation on the river of Mukhavets.
The rescuers decided to cut the ice so the birds would have more space for swimming. The water service specialists are cutting the ice, informs "Virtual Brest".
It became known that it had been planned to ring the birds today. Representatives of the Academy of Sciences arrived from Minsk to do this. First, it was planned to catch the birds and to place them into the purifying constructions. However, this variant was declined as there was not enough space, everything was also frozen there.
Let us remind you, first victims among birds were reported in Brest on February 5. The birds died of cold.
