The mother of the imprisoned BCD leader Paval Sieviarynets is trying to achieve that her son, who is in custody in KGB prison, will meet with a priest.
The politician - Co-Chairman of the steering committee for creating the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" - declared his wish to meet with a priest in order to confess and take Holy Communion, the BCD's press-center informs.
Tatsiana Sieviarynets has agreed with father Vasil from the Minsk eparchy, who is responsible for working with prisoners. However, the investigator has not given his permit for a meeting. Mrs. Tatsiana is now trying to achieve a meeting with the Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch of Belarus Filaret in order to solve this problem.
According to Tatsiana Sieviarynets, if she manages to achieve that the church will make an agreement with the KGB prison, it will become a real break-through. If not Paval Sieviarynets, then other prisoners will be given the right for a confession and a prayer.
