Former political prisoner Uladzimir Yaromenak arrested for 3 days
The Youth Front activist will be released right before Freedom Day celebrations
The ex-political
prisoner is under preventive supervision now. In February he was sentenced to
12 days of administrative detention for breaking the supervision regime.
Nasta Loyka: "In prison, he filed an appeal against
the sentence. The appeal was considered on February 26. Minsk city court
abolished this sentence as there had been procedural violations in it - the
court trial was carried out without the activist - and sent the case for a re-consideration.
So, the re-consideration took place today. They added two more facts of
breaking the preventive supervision to the initial case, and considered the
three offences at a time. They sentenced him to 5 days of detention for each
offence. It made 15 days in total, and he has already served 12 of them. Thus,
he is supposed to serve 3 more days of detention for breaking the preventive
supervision rules".
The Young Front activist will be released on Saturday, March 23, right before
the Freedom Day celebration.
