Vitsebsk detention center: Kavalenka's health alllows him to attend trial
Human rights defender Pavel Levinau met with the deputy head of Vitsebsk pre-trial detention center the day before the trial against Syarhej Kavalenka.
Let us remind you, the trial is supposed to take place on February 21. Kavalenka has stayed in the pre-trial detention center since December 22, and he has been on a hunger-strike since December 19. Kavalenka will stand trial allegedly for violation of the rules of serving punishment. The previous sentence was made against Kavalenka after he had hoisted a white-red-white flag on the biggest Christmas tree in Vitsebsk.
Deputy Head of the detention center Dubko has informed to Levinau that Syarhej Kavalenka is in a proper fit to attend the trial. Dubko has refused to give any comments with regard to a video at which Kavalenka is allegedly eating something during his hunger-strike in the detention center, published in the Internet.
