Why don't committed Communists like Belarusian authorities?
Euroradio watched the Communists celebrating November 7 and asked how "Lenin's successors" estimated the current situation in Belarus.
The Belarusian communists of all shades and directions put floral tribute to the leader of the world revolution on November 7 - they brought flower chains, roses and carnations to Lenin's monument near the House of Government.
Activists of the Communist Party of Belarus arrived first. They also took pioneers, other scholars, students (probably administrative resource), and soldiers in festive uniform. However, the youngsters vaguely responded to the journalists' questions about the October Revolution and knew very little about Lenin. There were about 1 000 people.
These communists praised the current authorities' actions and approved the state policy: "Now's not the time for revolutions". They put flowers and left.
Members of the All-Union Communist Bolshevist Party came next, with the portraits of Lenin and ... Stalin. For them, the ideals of the Belarusian national revival, existence of the Belarusian nation and the independence state lie in counter-revolution.
Stalin and Lenin outshined everyone else for these people - even Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
We asked activist Alyaksandr Pyatrovich what he thought of the authorities.
"My attitude is negative, these are bourgeois authorities, 100%, I can prove this to you", ― says Alyaksandr Pyatrovich.
Then the Belarusian Left Party "Fair World" arrived. They are in absolute opposition to the current authorities. However, there were no posters, portraits and unnecessary speeches.
At about 11 all celebrations of the October Revolution were over.
