Riot police clean up hospitability area near Palace of Sport
The 78th hockey championship ended in Minsk on the evening of May 25.
The real celebration was only starting near the Palace of Sport, nn.by reports. People were gathering near Minsk Zamchyshcha at 11 p.m. Cars with Russian flags filled the avenue – fans were celebrating their team’s victory.
The riot police started cleaning up the territory right after the concert and people were forced to head for Nyamiha. Some people were severely beaten for refusing to leave the festive happening.
A number of riot policemen forced people towards the metro at half past 3. They used a loudspeaker to order the present ‘not to violate the public order, not to stay in the pavement for a long time and leave the hospitability area’.
