Russia announces transit conditions for Belarus exports to Kazakhstan
Russian official says Kazakhstan is yet to react to the proposed solution of foodstuff exports ban for Belarus.
Russia may open transit for sanctioned products from Belarus to Kazakhstan, if there is a tripartite agreement at the level of Customs Union. This was announced by the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert, RIA Novosti reported.
Russia stopped transit through Belarus to Kazakhstan and other countries of products banned in Russia. According to Russian officials, prohibited goods had gone into the territory of Russia through illegal channels.
"We need to sign documents that will introduce some kind of responsibilities between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. When there is a cargo going through Russia, we need to know that is is going through us, and it turns out we were left out of the loop," said Dankvert.
He noted that the Russian side does not know about the movement of goods from Kazakhstan. Besides, the Kazakh side has not yet responded to the decision to restrict the transit of Belarusian goods through Russia to Kazakhstan.
